Abstract

Optimizing costs and time is crucial in construction projects to plan optimally so that the project can achieve maximum profits. The steps taken to achieve this optimization include creating a project network, identifying critical paths, calculating the project duration, and determining the amount of resources required. One of the methods used to manage this data is the Time Cost Trade Off (TCTO) method using Microsoft Project 2016 and Microsoft Excel 2016 software. Time Cost Trade Off aims to compress the project schedule in order to minimize total costs and achieve an acceptable project duration. In using this method, there are two scenarios that are evaluated. In the first scenario, by increasing working hours (overtime) under normal conditions, the project duration can be reduced to 224 days with a time efficiency of 29.338%, and a cost of IDR 22,301,308,667.25 with a cost efficiency of 1.828%. Meanwhile, in the second scenario, with additional labor equivalent to 4 hours of overtime, the project duration can be shortened to 165 days with a time efficiency of 47.950%, and a cost of IDR 21,488,617,285.36 with a cost efficiency of 5.406%. Thus, this method helps find optimal solutions to manage time and costs in construction projects.
